My Review:
Informative - Insightful - Original
Who would have thought that sitting in the right place at sporting events could have a powerful effect on your business, and maybe even your parenting skills. This is a great read for multiple reasons. For one, a realistic picture of life as a single mom raising a son and trying to keep a business afloat at the same time. What I appreciated most was the truths Liz discovered and how she kept digging until she reached the real foundation of her problems. The Pitch is 130 pages of reasonable and applicable sports savvy that when applied to real life, just might work for you.

  3. I played for 20 years, my son is a 2 time State soccer champion, but the real hero is my 5 foot tall even (ZERO inches) daughter who barely weighs 100 lbs: NINE-TIME state champion, scored the winning goal in her last 2 state championships, club team ranked no. 10 in the nation, high school team ranked no. 15 in the nation, 2004 South Carolina player of the year, deemed by her coach "the engine of the team." It's not the size of the dog--and it's not even about the championships--but rather it's what it all says about the size of the fight in the dog!

I definitely see the parallels: I get Liz (& Linda)!!!!

  4. I always like sports books that make references to business. Regarding your questions:

    3- Rules

    1) Off-sides
    2) Both feet on the ground when you make inbound throw.

    3- Positions

    Goalie, Forward, Sweeper
    3) Only person who can use hands is the goalie.

  7. (Positions)
    1. Defenders
    2. Forwards
    3. Goalkeepers.

    (Rules)
    1. A player cannot touch the ball twice in a row when putting the ball in play.
    2. A throw-in is taken when the ball crosses a sideline and leaves the field. The two basic soccer rules for a proper throw-in are to have both feet on the ground and to throw the ball with both hands over the head.
    3. Goalkeepers cannot pick up a pass that came directly from one of their teammates. In this case, the goalkeeper must use his feet.
