About The Book:

Joy Waltham is stressed out. Before she can expand her business empire, she needs her ex-husband's signature dissolving his silent partnership. A trip to Maine to find her ex, get the signature, and chill out seems ideal. But instead of relaxing, Joy winds up in the middle of a mystery--and wrapped in the overprotective arms of Comfort's chief of police--her ex-husband.After retiring from LAPD, Paul Donovan took charge of tiny Comfort's police department. Bored senseless, he's still not ready for chaos in the form of his ex-wife shaking up his life. Joy arrives just in time to meddle in his investigation of a string of accidental deaths. Now forced to work together, Joy and Paul confront some unexpected challenges. It's emotional deja vu as they dig through their thorny past, reawaken old sexual attraction, and face the fact they never stopped loving each other--wrinkles and all.

Lynda's Review:

A little mystery--a lot of romance, who could ask for more?

The lead characters in this story are of a mature age, having married, raised children and then divorced, they share a treasure of memories that bind them together in ways they didn't fully appreciate until circumstances put them back together. Everything about this story, the deeply conflicted emotions, the rekindled attraction, the family trials, and the mystery element are all twisted around each other in such a way as to make a tightly woven story that will give its readers much enjoyment.

I personally appreciated the deep characterization. Joy and Paul changed right before my eyes as I read this story. They learned from their life experience and changed in ways they hadn't foreseen or expected. I was compelled to care about their present, and to hope for their future. I'm happy to give this story Four Stars!
