About The Book:
The events of a single night can change a life forever, as musician Daniel Whitman discovers when he loses his family and home. Overwhelmed by grief, unable to find solace in his music or accept comfort from his friends, he flees up the California coast. Daniel thinks he's leaving everything behind, but his journey will take him to the places and people that will help him find his way back. The Day After Yesterday is a story of hope, friendship, and the redemptive power of music.

Lynda's Review:

~"The man hadn't lost that dazed look. He sat with water pooling around him, hadn't even taken off his backpack. He reached for the coffee mug, then with no warning slumped and toppled to the side, pitching headlong out of the booth."~

As I read this story, there were a couple of times that I felt like I'd fell face-first on a cold linoleum floor. The storytelling skill of this author was that good. The raw emotions experienced by Daniel Whitman bled on the pages, leaving a trail of misery that was impossible for me to ignore. I had to read on...

Overcoming tragedy with all its related repercussions fills this man's journey with more trials, unwanted decisions, and, in the end, possible salvation. Altogether, it makes for good reading. It's seriously strong, and I don't recommend it for a comfortable lazy afternoon read. It's more suited for an all-nighter, or one of those stormy evenings when you want to forget what's happening outside. In other words, give it its own space and time.
